CLASSIC WITH A TWIST

CLASSIC WITH A TWIST

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with planning my
dream wedding. I would look through pictures for hours on end and my
best friend even helped me create a desktop folder full of potential ideas.
Then Pinterest came along, and you can probably guess how I spend my free time.

None of my wedding ideas were ever outlandish or funky. I like to think
of my dream wedding as how I think of my fashion sense:
classic with a twist.

I will wear white, have traditional flowers, and matching bridesmaids, but there
are tons of little quirks to throw in, especially for the reception, to
personalize the day and make guests feel at home.

Here are some {cute} and {fun} ideas:

What could be {preppier} than navy striped ribbon?
Dress up a classic and simple bouquet with a uniquely tied ribbon in
{preppy} colors to match your wedding.

This couple used Personalized Koozies (similar) for reception drinks.
The other side reads "To Have and To Hold and Keep Your Beer Cold"!
That is a great take home item for guests to remember your BIG day!

Another great way to serve drinks is in traditional Mason Jars.
{I mean, we are from the south, right?!?!}
Tie coordinating {preppy} ribbon around them to add even more
southern charm.

One of the hardest decisions to make is what to give as favors!
Preppy & Pink girls are ALL about some personalization, so
choose something important to your family & their traditions. This couple gave their
guests the mother of the groom's famous homemade truffles! YUMMY!

Whatever you choose to do on your big day, just remember that {classic}
NEVER goes out of style, there is ALWAYS room for one more monogram
& you can NEVER have too much "preppy"!

IF YOUR HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT... EAT ICE CREAM!

Hey ya'll! I would like to introduce you to our guest blogger today!
Heather is the owner of "Pretty Southern" and is a graphic designer that does some
 design work for Preppy & Pink! Her little girl, Whitley Pearl, just celebrated her 2nd
birthday with an Ice Cream Theme party that was TDF {to die for}. In true
Preppy & Pink style, no detail was over looked! Enjoy Heather's recap of
the big day below...

Hey guys! It is Heather! I just wanted to share a 'sneak peak' at my little girl,
Whitley Pearl's second birthday party! It was a small family affair, but we still
wanted it to be super sweet and special! I wasn't sure what I was going to do for a
long time, but I totally loved this ice-cream truck idea! it would have been way
cute to do in the summer, I really would have hired an ice-cream truck to come
park for a few hours, lol! But, it was in February, and that just wasn't really ideal!
So, we totally made it really fun and bright! First off, I based all of the party
colors off of her outfit {By Mud-Pie} & we went from there.  I wanted it to feel
really young and playful. My next step was to design the invitation from scratch.
...annnnd...
Whitley's Ice Cream Shack was born!
You can purchase your own Ice Cream Party invites HERE

We had ice-cream in mason jars, root-beer and cream-soda on hand for 'floats'
and of course, polka-dot paper straws {Shop Sweet Lulu}! SweeTreats by Keri
made my idea of ice-cream sundae cupcakes come alive! They were super sweet!
We topped them with real cherries, and sweet pearl sprinkles...just perfect for
little Whitley Pearl! My mom found the ice-cream pinatas...and she was sweet
enough to hand-stitch this beautiful table-cloth for me!
{...xoxo...she's the best!}

My favorite idea for the party was hand-dipping the waffle bowls in white
chocolate and then topping them with the pearl sprinkles.  We then used them to
hold all of our ice-cream toppings...sprinkles, chocolate chips, and marshmallows!
The sweetest touch was her brother hand-cut her cup-cake topper so he was
super proud of his work!

Hope you enjoyed your sneak peak of Whitley Pearl's Ice-Cream Shack!
xoxo...heather

DOUBLE THE CAKE, DOUBLE THE FUN...LILLY & KATE JUST TURNED ONE!

Many of you may remember the "twins" baby shower that I hosted for my best friend {and styling assistant}, Courtney, last year. Well, time really does fly and as hard as it is to believe, my little Kate & Lilly have just turned one! In true Preppy & Pink fashion, Courtney and I had so much fun styling their "pink" themed party. {What did you expect, right?}.

Double the cake, Double the Fun... Lilly & Kate are turning ONE!
{Invitation by Preppy & Pink}

"Preppy & Pink" custom handpainted "splat mats" kept
the cake crumbs off the floor and looked extra cute.
{Stay tuned for their debut in the shop, so excited!}

 Pink cupcakes and a sweet little smash cakes
were the perfect touch.

We had a coordinating pink striped awning custom made to
fit over Courtney's dining room window to give the
party a "candy shoppe" vibe!

We had a "party board" painted to match their invitations!

Courtney kept the "Kate & Lilly" banner that I had made for
her baby shower last year and it made it even more special
to be able to use it at their first birthday party!

The "mini" high chair banners & large circle
monograms that we made turned out soooo cute!

Mommy & Daddy with the birthday girls!
The outfits were super cute and were from
Chasing Fireflies. Even Daddy coordinated
with the party colors{such a good sport}!

Kate & Lilly got lots and lots of presents. It adds up
quickly when everything is times 2!

Everyone seemed to have a great time, especially Miss Gracie!

We had an old wagon painted pink and added big white polka dots
 and then used it to hold the presents!

Adam, Courtney, Kate & Lilly... {and Jacks, too!}

Every party girl needs a party hat!

Love the sparkler candles and the sweet fondant
flower on the smash cakes.

Yummy... CAKE!

The "mini" highchair banners coordinated with
the invitations also.
{Look at those sweet little feet... LOVE}

Kate was really enjoying her cake....

and Miss Lilly was too!

Polka Dot Balloons from our favorite Polka Dot Market

The girlies are all cleaned up and off for a ride on their new toys!

I still can't believe that Kate & Lilly are a year old! Before we know it, it will be time to start planning their next party.
Love you to pieces sweet girls and so honored to be apart of your BIG day!
